Art Culture and what really matters

The trip from Buriram to Pak Chong before Bangkok.
After spending a few days with my family at Baan Noonsaneh, I decided to take a train with Groot and Pancake. I chose to be optimistic about the journey.
My family drove us to the train station in Buriram. Pancake, Groot, and I got our tickets to Pak Chong, which is in Nakhon Ratchasima. The journey was estimated to take 4.5 hours. Going straight to Bangkok with two dogs would have been too much at once. Dog tickets were 90 baht each, and my ticket was around 230 baht for a fan carriages 2 and 3). The dogs needed to travel in bags so as not to disturb other passengers.

This was my first time visiting Buriram city. I was amazed and learned about the province's and looking up for the slogan: เมืองปราสาทหิน ถิ่นภูเขาไฟ ผ้าไหมสวย รวยวัฒนธรรม เลิศล้ำเมืองกีฬา (City of Stone Castles, Land of Volcanoes, Beautiful Silk, Rich Culture, Excellent City of Sports). It's certainly an accurate description.
It was wonderful spending time with my family and reconnecting with them. Things have changed so much in my life, and I realized how many details I had missed. I felt like I reconnected with myself on a much deeper level after venturing out into the world and dealing with life's challenges.

Had I ever seen things this way before? I honestly don't think so. It felt like I was seeing everything with fresh eyes. I'm so grateful to my uncle for inviting me to join him on a visit to Grandma and Grandpa. It was like being a child again, with a flood of memories. Our conversations in the car were so warm and comforting, and they healed something within me.
Okay...time to board the train. By the way, the meatballs at the Buriram train station are somewhat famous, a kind of signature dish. We tried some, thanks again to my uncle for sharing his knowledge of Buriram.
We boarded the train, and it was hot and crowded, our first two hours were a struggle. There wasn't much room, and the dogs were uncomfortable. Thankfully, Pancake was very understanding and well-behaved. Groot was still small enough to keep on my lap. The last two hours were much better. People got off, and we had more room to breathe. The weather also cooled down. Throughout the trip, vendors walked through the train selling food and drinks. For me, this was a memorable experience. I wouldn't have done this on a regular day. It wasn't easy, and I'd never done it before, but I'm so grateful that we did it and were able to travel together. Now Groot is much bigger, traveling with them both would be much harder, and we would have missed the Jim Thompson Farm visit in 2024/25.
In my opinion, train travel is underrated. It's budget-friendly and can take you to so many places. It's also pet-friendly and can handle a huge amount of luggage, mail, etc.
This trip was a great experience. I learned a lot from being on the train. Looking over the views and seeing so much changes. It was therapeutic. The passengers were kind, and I enjoyed conversations with other people. The train staff were helpful and checked for safety.
It was a great way to immerse myself in Thai culture.
